AIPIO National Roadshow (13-22 March 2012) Counter-intelligence - using the forgotten intelligence
During March 2012, AIPIO will host its annual national roadshow, featuring a masterclass on counterintelligence by Michael Dever. Dates for the roadshow have now been locked in:
  • Melbourne: 13 March
  • Adelaide: 14 March
  • Perth: 16 March
  • Canberra: 19 March
  • Brisbane: 20 March
  • Sydney: 22 March
In this half-day practical workshop, Michael will present a practical workshop on counter-intelligence (CI) — often called the forgotten intelligence.

Michael offers guidelines for the implementation of a risk-based CI strategy to protect operations, people and assets. The workshop is based on research carried out in the past twelve months in Australia, Canada, the UK and the USA, with an emphasis on the growing threat from technical collection means. The workshop includes demonstrations, case studies, and a practical exercise on vulnerability analysis.

Other topics covered in the workshop include offensive versus defensive CI, contemporary threats, methods commonly used, available countermeasures, future trends, and the role of risk assessment in managing the threat environment through selecting appropriate countermeasures, especially technical surveillance countermeasures (TSCM).

For details of each master-class please see the AIPIO Events Calendar.
