AIPIO publishes an international, peer-reviewed journal three times a year to facilitate the disciplined exchange of views on the intelligence theory and practice from acknowledged leaders in the field of intelligence both in Australia and overseas. Included in the Journal are scholarly articles, practitioner perspectives and book reviews. The Journal of the Australian Institute of Professional Intelligence Officers is an accredited Australian Research Council (ARC) Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) journal.
The AIPIO Board of Management has created a new strategic partnership with RMIT Publishing, which is an aggregator of research information for students, lecturers, and researchers. Its Informit database delivers content to a global audience of academics, research students, thought leaders, libraries, government agencies and the private sector through its online search facility. The strategic partnership affords the Institute two key benefits: the AIPIO Journal is now fully indexed in RMIT Publishing’s Informit database (http://search.informit.org/search;action=doSearch); and thought leadership fostered by AIPIO through our Journal authors can now reach an international audience of researchers through citation in Google Scholar (https://scholar.google.com.au).
CALL FOR PAPERS
AIPIO is pleased to announce that the Call for Papers for Intelligence 2020 is now open.
We seek contributions from intelligence professionals, academics, students, and other industry professionals. Successful abstracts will be given the opportunity to prepare a paper and present it to a national conference attended by intelligence professionals, managers, and sector partners. All selected papers will also be published in the AIPIO journal to be available online after the conference – subject to contributor approval.
Important Dates
15 April 2020: Abstracts due
1 May 2020: Requests for full papers will be sent out and unsuccessful contributors will be notified.
1 July 2020: Papers due. Please note that if you fail to submit your paper, then you will be unable to present at the conference
Submission Guidelines
An abstract (300 words maximum) outlining your paper and addressing the theme of the conference (Intelligence Professionals in the 21st Century) and one of the three sub-themes (People, Technology, or Practice) should be prepared. All abstracts will be considered by a committee. Successful applicants will be notified and will be invited to complete a full paper.
Abstracts should be sent to: journal@aipio.asn.au
The paper will be presented at the conference and should contain sufficient information for a 30 minute presentation. Papers should not be published elsewhere prior to being published in the AIPIO Journal.
Please note successful papers will need to be submitted in the preferred format of the AIPIO Journal as noted in the “Submission Guidelines”.
