Event Overview

The David Irvine Missing Persons Intelligence Innovation Workshop is a focused event bringing together senior stakeholders from law enforcement, intelligence, forensic science, technology, and policy. The workshop will explore how intelligence-led approaches and emerging technologies are reshaping the way missing persons cases are understood, investigated, and resolved.

The program will feature case studies, expert panels, and practical insights across themes such as:

  • Open-source intelligence (OSINT) and early-stage intervention

  • Forensic DNA advancements and investigative genetic genealogy

  • Facial recognition and AI applications in real-time investigations

  • Military and historical case identifications

  • Cross-jurisdictional law enforcement coordination

  • National policy perspectives and lived experience

This event is presented in honour of the late David Irvine AO, whose leadership and commitment to public service continue to inspire collaboration and innovation in Australia’s national security and intelligence community.
